Bath Time

I love these photos of 7 month old Austin having fun in the bath tub. They are sweet! I did cover his little tush for the internet post though. :)

All the patterned paper for this layout is from an old Cosmo Cricket pack - Get Happy - that I've been waiting to use for ages.  It gives just the right fun & bubbly feel for the tub time pictures. I like the nice bold colors as well.

Cricut Cartridges used:

Billionaire - Font for "Splish" & "Splash". Each word was welded together & then sized to be 6" wide. Once they were attached to the page I used Glossy Accents to make them shine so they would stand out better.

New Arrival - "Bath Time" cut at 3.5" high. Used Glossy Accents on this as well after it was attached to the page.

Heritage - The bathtubs were cut at 4" high. I cut them from white Bazzill Bling cardstock but decided I didn't like the stark white after all. I used silver Smooch to color the taps & feet and then used Pebbles Inc blue chalk on the rest of the tub. I sprayed the chalk with hairspray to set it so it wouldn't rub off. I haven't used chalks in ages so it was a nice change. :)

An EK border punch "Bubbles" was used on the blue papers. Then I used waterfall Stickles to lightly accent the bubbles along the borders. I have no idea where the large bling "bubbles" are from. Again, something from my stash that has been around for ages. The little rubber duck is a Recollections embellishment. I also used Tim Holtz distress inks ( Festive Berry, Faded Jeans & Mustard Seed) on the edges of the papers.

Thanks once again for stopping by. I appreciate the visit. :)

Have a wonderful day! ... Barb

Feb Page Kit from Scrappers' Cove, Invermere

This month the kit included 4 sheets of patterned cardstock, some ribbon & a package of berry spray. Since we have to make sure we use some of everything provided, I found this month challenging because of the berry spray. Managed to get it on the page but didn't use much. :) Not sure what all the papers were but the black ones are BasicGrey, Little Black Dress.

The main thing I added to the kit was the stitching. I used my new We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy Circle to create the circle of hearts to stitch. This is the first time I've used the tool since picking it up at the store. I must say it was really easy to use. I don't have the large mat they recommend for the larger circles so I had to tape 2 of my mats together which worked fine. I set the circle size at 8 1/2". I used red & deep pink craft floss on the hearts. Did some inking with Tim Holtz Distress inks - Fired Brick & Festive Berry. The "Love" bling is from Making Memories & I've had it for ages so nice to be able to finally use it.

Cricut Cartridges used:

Martha Stewart Elegant Cake Art - Champagne Toast shadow font @ 1 1/2" for the monogram initials. Also the hearts from the same cartridge at 1", 1 1/2" & 3". I cut the Letters & the large heart 4 times & glued them together to give a chipboard feel. None of my Cricuts like to cut chipboard so I've given up trying to make them!

The photo is from Ryan & Christina's wedding in 2010. Yes, I'm still trying to finish their wedding album! Slow & steady wins the race. :)

Thanks for visiting my blog today! Have a great weekend! It is a holiday weekend here in BC. :) First time for a new Family Day weekend introduced this year. Very nice!

This is What Cute looks Like

This layout is thanks to inspiration from Yvonne at Cricut FANatics  www.cricutfanatics.blogspot.ca. Her page is adorable & I love the title. Like Yvonne, I also did the layout for our grandson. :)

One thing I don't seem to have in my paper stash is plaid paper. How can that be? LOL! The pattern papers for this page are an older line from BasicGrey, Marrakech.

I used a We R Memory Keepers Lucky 8 punch, Classic Wreath, to create the large mat. I cut my paper to 11" square before punching. I copied the design created by hand to make the slightly larger red mat behind.

Cricut Cartridges used:

Mickey Font: Title was all cut at 1" except "CUTE" was cut at 1 1/4" & shadowed.

Animal Kingdom: Giraffe cut at 6"

I used Black Diamond Stickles on the title words & just added some blue crystal bling to "cute" before using foam tape to attach it to the page. Also used Distress Stickles (Brushed Corduroy & Antique Linen) on the giraffe. Of course I used googly eyes on him too just because I love googly eyes! :) Used foam tape to attach the giraffe as well.
